We had such a fun filled, event packed weekend in UT. We left Thursday night after work and drove all night. Got to Logan at 7am in time to wake up our grandkids Kenton, Lydia, Kathryn and Kiera which was very special. Then we went to their school for a Halloween parade which was fun! Afterwards, Theresa took me to pick out scripturs and a cover for Kenton for his baptism gift. Then we drove to Layton where Heidi had a brunch waiting for us, yum!
How on earth do our grandkids grow so fast?! Kahlan really grew!! Babies do that. She really filled out and looks so healthy. We then spent the rest of Friday with Hillers and Nelsons before driving to Bountiful to see Serena. Kent had never seen her home and fabulous backyard with the flowing creek. We then drove back up to Heidi's with Serena where we all spent the night and visited with everyone some more.
On Saturday we all drove up to Logan for Kenton's baptism which was our first for our grandkids. It was very special. We then had a yummy lunch at the Cooley's followed by an ice skating party for Kenton. We celebrated Kenton and Kiera's birthdays. There are lots of fun pictures of all the events of this weekend on Theresa, Heidi and Alycia's blogs.
That night was Halloween and all the kids went Trick or Treating in their own neighborhoods.
Sunday was another gathering for Kahlan's baby blessing. Many family were there too. Heidi put on a feast to all afterwards like Theresa did. My daughters are good cooks! It was fun to see so many people including Scott's family from AZ and alot of Josh's family in UT and his Grandfather from WY; plus Ron and Ronda (Riskedahl)
Christenson family and Amy (Zentz) Johnson and kids.
That day we also celebrated Theresa and Josh's birthdays. We also brought and had our grandkids open their Christmas gifts which were matching dresses for the 5 granddaughters and kinda matching outfits for Kenton and Ethan. We wanted them to enjoy them during the holdiays AND to take pictures for us Grandparents.
The next morning we left for ND and brought Alycia and Brenna back with us for a week where Tyson planned to drive out and get them the following weekend. Thank you Tyson for letting us have them for awhile. It was his idea and it meant so much to us! It was wonderful even though Alycia and I got sick that whole week with bad headcolds and coughs which we are still fighting.
At least we were able to see Great Grandma Hazel Hagel and have her meet Brenna for the first time. I think Mom really liked Brenna. It was a special visit! Alycia also added to the eventful weekend in UT by announcing that they are going to have another baby this coming May!! Shock for all, but a good one! When Alycia told Grandma Hazel, her comment was, "I know, I could tell". Well, Alycia is not showing yet...so how did she know? Grandmas are pretty special!
